Yet adjusting with human and material. This magical science connect the five components
called ‘Panchtatva’- Akash (Sky or Space), Vayu (Air), Jal (Water), Agni (Fire) and Prithvi (Earth) and paving a way for
refinement, prosperity and happiness.
The whole universe is supposed to be made up of these five fundamental elements i.e. air, fire, water, earth and space.
The body of human is also made up of these components.Fundamentally, to our five senses these elements are connected
– that of taste, touch, smell, hearing and sight. The main aim of Vastu is how to alive in a perfect balance and harmony,
by balancing above given these five main components.To ensure a peaceful and stress free life Vaastu teaches us how to
correct our internal and external imbalances.
Five elements
According to Vastu Shastra, the entire universe is full of useful energies.Energy is basically originated by two
forces- the electro-magnetic energy generated by the rotation of earth and the five elements.Among the nine planets Earth is
the third planet and the only region where life can exist due to these Panchtatva.
Space,sun and air are cosmically accessible and can be shaped in accordance with the human requirements by the
action of design (architecture}.
To understand the act of design or architecture with the above five elements we wish to consider all these given elements
in a separate way:
The whole world is made by the five fudamental components, i.e. fire, earth, air, water and space. And our
body is also made up by these above elements.As because these five elements or components are linked to our senses
– that of smell,taste, hearing, sight and touch. The main aim of Vastu is that- how to live in
a perfect harmony and equilibrium by balancing these main five elements. It also instruct us how our external and internal
imbalances correct
Elements of Vastu Shastra
Earth
Earth-The first and most important element of nature.In Vastu plot’s soil, area everything matters so it is
necessary to consult the land during purchasing. The
selection of location is also very signficiant in Vastu Shastra.Before commencing the construction a detailed
inspection of plot, location,
size and shape has to be accomplished.In Vastu Earth is the most valuable
element and influenced the human lives in every manner.
Water
on earth Water (jal) is present in the form of sea, ocean,and rain. It is considered the second foremost
element in Vastu. For the placement of water sources Vastu provides proper directions. It is
a component of north-east. In case of, domestic water flow, it should be drained or exhausted out of north-east
only. The swimming pool, aquarium and other water bodies need to be made in north-east direction only as because this is
suiotable and auspicious for water
Fire
Fire (Agni) is treated as a component of south-east. In case of house electrical gadgets or kitchen fire shall
be place in south-east direction. As we all know that essence of life is light and sun is the main source of natural
giver of light. Fire or Agni is the base of
all energy sources along with atomic power and thermal power.So that for sunlight proper ventilation should be
essential.
Air
Air (Vayu) is an essential thing for all of us which are living on earth. In Vastu air is one more valuable element
which is considered or treated before put into use.It is an element or component of north-east direction. It consists of
different gases such as oxygen, helium, nitrogen, carbon dioxide etc. A well-balanced percentage of various gases,
humidity level and atmospheric pressure are important for all living beings on earth. There are valuable directions
for doors and windows in Vastu Shastra so as to gain a good quantity of air.
Space
Our Space is completely full of constellations, milky way, star,sun, moon and nine
planets which is also known as ‘Brahamand’ or ‘Universe’- the place of almighty or god and we all know that sky is never
ending .In our lives Space has a very special place and Vastu provides various directions for prominent space. Indian
homes used to have airy or open space
in the middle of the home. Brahmasthan i.e. Akash which is an open place,so any interruption relevant to
space in a home would lead to adverse results.
